A Brief History of Volvo Trucks
Volvo Trucks is a Swedish truck manufacturer that built its first truck in 1928. Over the following decades, Volvo became known for its focus on safety and engineering innovation. The company introduced groundbreaking features such as the three-point safety belt in 1959 and the first fully integrated sleeper cab in 1983, cementing its reputation for driver comfort and safety. Volvo Trucks entered the North American market by partnering with and later acquiring local manufacturers, eventually establishing a strong presence in the United States and Canada. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Volvo launched modern, aerodynamic models (like the VN/VNL series) and advanced technologies such as their automated I-Shift transmission. Today, Volvo Trucks is nearly a century old and is one of the world’s largest heavy-duty truck brands, offering a wide range of trucks to meet various transportation needs.
Volvo Today
Volvo offers many different on-highway and vocational trucks. These include:

- VHD: The VHD is a versatile vocational truck ideal for construction and other tough work. It features a durable chassis and can be configured as a dump truck, mixer, or other applications, delivering reliability and great visibility on the job site.
